Utilise Your NDIS Funding With NDIS Physiotherapy For Allied Health Services
For those with a disability, completing some everyday tasks may be a challenge. Whether it is self care, cooking, cleaning and gardening or going for a jog and participating in sports, you may find that sometimes your physical function has an impact on what you want to do.
If you have a support person, assistive equipment, or have completed rehabilitation after surgery, some aspects of life may be more manageable. But what if these therapeutic supports aren’t available whenever you need them? Regaining and maintaining independence wherever possible is something that health professionals strive for, and in many cases, NDIS physiotherapy services aim to assist with this.
ACE ALLIED HEALTH

Your NDIS Physiotherapy Questions Answered
Who is eligible for NDIS physiotherapy?
Any self funded or plan managed NDIS participant may access NDIS physiotherapy if it is deemed necessary to support their goals and improve their daily functioning. This will differ from person to person depending on their NDIS plan. If you’re unsure whether physiotherapy may be covered under your NDIS plan, please contact your NDIS plan manager or other NDIS representative.
What services are covered by the NDIS?
The services covered by the NDIS will vary based on the participant’s plan. When it comes to physiotherapy, services that may or may not be utilised under the NDIS include assessments and evaluations, therapeutic interventions, assistive equipment, home exercise programs, and education and training. If you’re not sure if physiotherapy is included in your NDIS plan, please check with your NDIS plan manager or other NDIS representative.
Will I get exercises I can do at home?
While some exercises require specific equipment, there are some exercises you may be able to do at home. This will depend on your individual circumstances, but we aim to give most people tasks and exercises to work on between sessions. Please ask during your appointment what may be appropriate for you.
Do you offer physiotherapy home visits?
Yes, we do offer home visits! If you’re more comfortable at home or can’t make it into one of our clinics, we’re happy to support your needs. Find out more here.
Do I need a service agreement?
You generally need a service agreement to access physiotherapy services. However if you are new to the NDIS, or new to physiotherapy, you may be approved for a few physiotherapy or allied health sessions, after which a proposal can be given, with a letter of support to include it in future funding under your NDIS plan. We will need prior approval from your provider/plan manager for this.
If you have Allied Health or Physiotherapy services within your plan, we can set you up for the services and the intervals designated in your plan. Most commonly these services fall under ‘Capacity Building Supports’ in your plan.
Shorter term physiotherapy may be available post injury or surgery. Initial sessions will need to be approved by a plan manager, and most commonly will come out of your ‘Core Budget’.
If you are a self managed client, you are able to pay as you access our services, and forward on receipts for reimbursement. If you are self managed it is your responsibility to check that you are covered for the services you are accessing.
Do you work with my NDIS plan manager?
In short, Yes.
We are able to liaise with your plan manager, and other health professionals as necessary to help . We provide reports with recommendations for future plans when your plan is up for review. We also supply written recommendations on aides, braces and splints and can liaise with plan managers to help you access what you need to make your life easier.
What areas do you service?
